Application Requirements
You will need the following information to submit your application:
- Current resume
- Employment status
- An email address you check regularly
- Your decision on pursuing The Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership as a stand alone certificate or paired with an MS Degree
Admission Requirements
- No GRE Required
- Excellent record of academic performance
- Highly motivated with the potential to develop as an engineering leader
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or pursuing a Northeastern PlusOne program
- Experience in the engineering field (ideally through full-time work experience, but co-op or internship experience will also be considered)
- Employment in an industry related to your degree program (typically a full-time employer) to define the scope of your Challenge Project. If you do not have a full-time employer at the time of application, please fill out the form to discuss other possible sponsor options.
GIEL Candidates must apply for and be admitted to The Gordon Institute and the respective college through which they plan to earn their Master of Science Degree (College of Engineering, College of Science, or Khoury College of Computer and Information Science). Students with a graduate degree in engineering or at least three years of engineering work experience are eligible to apply for the stand-alone Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership.

Timeline
The Gordon Institute is a rolling admissions program. Admission is competitive and candidates are encouraged to apply early. Gordon Institute classes begin in September. Candidates that plan to pair The Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership with an MS Degree must submit their respective MS application before Northeastern University application deadlines. Domestic students must submit applications to their respective MS programs prior to August 1. International students must submit applications to their respective MS programs prior to April 15.
